I had read this quote from one of the popular books of Bob Ong, Stainless Longganisa (Chapter 7, page 115 -- pero walang page number na nakalagay talaga.).

Nung elementary and high school ako, ayaw na ayaw ko talaga ung pinagbabasa kami ng teachers namin ng mga books (e.g. pocketbooks) tapos gagawan namin ng review. Banas na banas ako sa mga teachers namin kasi feeling ko sobrang torture na sa akin un dahil wala talaga akong kahilig-hilig sa mga libro (maliban sa mga joke books at horror books na sikat na sikat noon dahil sa kacornyhan). Pero nung nagkaroon ng book fair sa amin, naaliw ako sa mga tindang libro dun sa lobby ng canteen na 15 pesos lang ata ang isa. Napabili ako ng isa na Straight Up ang title (libro ng Sweet Valley High -- sikat sa mga librong pina-publish nila na mga pang-kabataang tulad ko).
